MY HEALING JOURNEY

My passion for health and wellness began when I was in college. This was the point when I began facing challenges with anxiety and panic attacks. During that same time, both my father and my aunt fought hard and ultimately lost their battles to cancer. I realized then that none of us can take our health or vitality for granted. This led to a lot of new discoveries (and valuable lessons), growth, and a deep yearning to learn more about how our bodies heal.

In 2002 at the age of 31, I decided to get breast implants. I was young, flat chested, and believed they would give me a greater sense of beauty and self-confidence. In the years following the surgery, I began noticing symptoms of Breast Implant Illness - although I did not make the connection at the time. My anxiety and panic attacks flared up again (they had been almost non-existent since college). I had episodes of heart palpitations. I was unable to get pregnant and went through two years of unsuccessful fertility treatments. Multiple food sensitivities, along with other gut issues began to surface. My adrenal function became impaired - I was tired in the afternoons and had bouts of insomnia. Headaches, mood swings, dry skin, ringing in my ears, and random muscle pain, and sensitivity to light rounded out my symptoms. It wasn't until later on in my career that I was able to connect the dots to what this all actually meant.

After 25 years as a personal trainer, I was eventually drawn to become a Certified Nutrition Consultant (CNC) and Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP). I discovered the power of combining different healing methodologies for myself and my clients. When we address all facets of our health, we can truly adopt the healing benefits that our mind and body were meant to experience.

There are so many directions you can go to reclaim your health, and I love sharing the journey with others. It’s just a matter of finding the right formula for your unique body chemistry, genetics, and personality. Of course, knowing where to start often feels overwhelming. (Trust me, I’ve been there!) There’s no “one size fits all” solution either. So, rather than blindly follow the latest health fads, I turn to proven, research-based practices, lab tests, and recommendations that integrate whole-body health.

On my journey, I laid the groundwork for supporting my body's bio-individual needs including following an anti-inflammatory diet, correcting nutrient deficiencies, supporting my thyroid and adrenals, improving my gut microbiome, reducing my toxic burden (all of my amalgams have been removed and my breast explant surgery is coming soon!!), committing to a personalized, emotional healing plan (actually for me this was one of the most important steps). Unresolved emotional stress, trauma, and triggers can 100 percent block one's health journey. The invaluable tools in my personal "emotional healing toolbox" are daily meditation, the Emotion Code, therapy, and acupuncture. Used in combination with one another, these modalities were one of the missing pieces to my health puzzle.

The path you take for wellness may look quite different. Your own benefits and healing can come from any combination of techniques, methodologies, and practices. That’s exactly why I developed the Welle Method to be personalized based on your genetics, health conditions, preferences, and needs. It’s all designed to help you chart and pursue the avenue that’s right for you.

I’ve vowed to make it my life’s work to educate, coach, and promote holistic healing and living for myself, my clients and my daughter. What better gift can we give our children than the one of lifelong health. Wherever you’re at, I promise to help you dig down to the root causes, connect the dots, and restore your health. That’s the only way to make real, positive changes in your life. If you’re ready to do the work, optimal health can be yours!

And while I started adopting new ways to nourish, support, and balance my body, I became increasingly aware that my own health journey would be blocked if I didn’t address my emotional healing, too. That’s what inspired me to take my personal wellness to the next level.
